EU hits Microsoft with antitrust warning over IE bundled with Windows
Opera Software's year-old antitrust complaint against Microsoft took another step toward being vindicated, and the Oslo-based browser maker is applauding the European Commission's decision. Opera had filed a complaint with the EC contending that Microsoft's bundling of Internet Explorer with Windows violated antitrust rules. Last week, the EC sent a "Statement of Objections" to Microsoft outlining a preliminary finding that bundling IE with Windows does indeed infringe on the EC's antitrust rules.

Microsoft kept its promise: SP3 + CU1 available
As promised, Microsoft made SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 available by year-end 2008 (December 15th to be exact). It’s been almost two years since SP2 so this is well worth applying if you are waiting on a decision to upgrade to SQL Server 2008.
