I'm going to be generous and presume that if I took the time to peruse the actual research paper instead of merely reading the news release about it that I would come away having learned something more than that the University of Missouri has apparently endowed a chair in the name of Professor Obvious. Mike makes the point that just because a given technology or product is not open or does not support an open standard, does not make necessarily bad. Mike is right; it does not mean it is automatically bad or not as good as an open product.
