Recent reports have confirmed the iPhone leaks the MAC addresses of routers a person has recently connected to. That doesn't sound like a good thing. Should you be concerned? And what's a MAC address, anyway?

Introduction to MAC Addresses
The Media Access Control (MAC) address is a binary number used to uniquely identify computer network adapters. These numbers (sometimes called "hardware addresses") are physically burned into the network hardware during the manufacturing process, or stored in firmware, and designed to not be modified.

Can IP Addresses Be Determined from MAC Addresses?
It turns out a MAC address doesn't say much about you a person. Unless you stole the physical piece of network hardware you're using, there's not too much cause for concern, unless... it were possible to turn that MAC address into your IP address.
